*is speechless*

A Clockwork Orange...... is AMAZING!! I couldn't choose the correct adjective to describe the greatness of the movie. It's probably the best movie I've ever watched! *_* All hail to the genius himself, Stanley Kubrick *worships* I've only watched two Kubrick films so far: this one & Eyes Wide Shut. I wasn't very much interested with the latter. However, Clockwork Orange is incredibly astounding & I'm now wanting to see more Kubrick films. Throughout the whole movie, I didn't move around (not even to drink), I was glued to the seat due to the suspense & artistic cinematography. I was very much in awe. Malcolm McDowell's acting was marvelous. His smile, his eyes.. he's just the perfect actor for Alex. I watched the movie with Kara, who is an avid fan of Kubrick. We were very serious when watching, mostly because there were a lot of messages, intelligent & philosophical words, very deep psychological perceptions (that will be understood differently by different people due to the different opinions & personal interpretations)... Thus, we needed to watch intensely & listen closely to the conversations.

Just like most Kubrick films, Clockwork Orange also gives a sense of "dark" feeling that leads to deep-thinking & re-thinking of the scenes. Therefore, we needed a cheerful movie to lighten our moods up. So we watched Annie (the original) after that =D It's totally the contrary of Clockwork Orange. Annie is cheerful, full of music & dances (it's a musical, after all.. I love the songs so much!), happy, lively, etc. Aileen Quinn is perfect to play Annie, with her naughty & brave face, and curly red hair (not her real hair, I think). She also sings very well, I love her voice! I want a house like Daddy Warbucks' house! *_* Kara sang along throughout the whole movie, since Annie is one of her childhood movies. Childhood memories never disappear, especially if it's a wonderful one. Too bad I didn't have much memory of my childhood...

music : annie - tomorrow
*sings*
The sun'll come out Tomorrow,
bet your bottom dollar that Tomorrow there'll be sun!
Just thinking about Tomorrow,
clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow 'til there's none.
When I'm stuck with a day, that's gray, and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and say: Oh!
The sun'll come out Tomorrow,
So you got to hang on 'til Tomorrow.
Come what may!
Tomorrow, Tomorrow,
I love ya, Tomorrow,
you're only a day away.

*sighs* I love a night like this... :3

After Annie, we watched Save The Last Dance. I don't really like this one, although Julia Stiles is a good actress. It's a mainstream, teenager movie. After Clockwork Orange & Annie, the quality of this movie is totally downhill ^^;;

The night before (Saturday), we watched All That Jazz, a semi-autobiographical movie about Bob Fosse. This is another good movie, very artistic *nods* All hail to Fosse for his coreography! *_* He was really a great artist, I love the dances so much... especially the one titled "Take Off With Us". Very sensual, yet very artistic. Jessica Lange is so beautiful when she was young. Ann Reinking.... is always wonderful :3 She dances very well, even now when she's 52 years old. She sings very well, her voice is very distinct & unique. Speaking of her, she was also in Annie, starring as Daddy Warbucks' private secretary.

Yes, we were on a movie-watching spree since Saturday. 1 film on Saturday, 3 on Sunday. We started watching at 11 PM last night and just finished at 6 AM ^^; I need to sleep now... I have a group meeting later this afternoon... *feels so lazy*

Eeeh, I almost forgot! Happy Birthday, Mary! :D Hope you had a wonderful day... Post more webcam pictures, ne?
