I've spent a few hours looking for brushes (for Photoshop & Paint Shop Pro), pictures & images, and trying to do math homework ^^;. Found a lot of pictures & images at
freefoto. Actually
corbis has a lot of good ones... but it requires payment -_- For some reason, I feel like browsing Japan-related pictures. Perhaps the effect of Nerrie coming here yesterday makes me want to see Japan even more ^^; Oh I just remembered, she told me a lot of Japanese high school cultures and I compared them to the ones I've seen from anime. Very interesting...
Some interesting *Japanese* websites I've found...
Japanese Art Museum: virtual museum of traditional arts.
Indonesian & Japanese Batik : reminds me of my extra curriculair activity during my junior year in high school ^^;
Flop Design : your regular design site
Ja*Font : a collection of Japanese fonts links.
Klein & Dytham : Japanese architecture & design.
Japan pictures : beautiful pictures of Japan... some files have a big size though.
And of course... the infamous
Real Japan! =)
Hmmm... when I think about it, my largest area of interest has always been art & design. From web design to graphic design, on to photography, architecture & art. I also love interior design & fashion. Somehow, art relates to music (including orchestra & instruments) & theater (including musical play). And I love them dearly, too. Now you see, I'm a very abstract & "art" person (although not necessarily very creative ^^;)... but why on earth do I major in business? o_O Sure, my major is a combination between business (the "Management Science" part) and computer (the "Information System" part). But still... I hate business -_- Ah, of course... parent's pressure x_x Oh well, it's not too late. I'm still quite young. I can always do what I like from now on.. ne?
Perhaps my experience is going to be a good lesson, for me (not to decide my children's future, but to leave the choice to them.. since it's their life & their future) and for everyone else (who doesn't know yet what to do for the future & who is being forced by their parents & have them decide one's future). My advice is take your time & think thoroughly before deciding... because once you make a mistake, it might be quite a hassle (but not impossible or too late) to change directions.
*points to self* Like me.. I have to suffer my 4 precious years to finish this degree with a major I don't even have interest on. Why not change major, you ask? Because, it was too late already when I completely realized that. I don't want my parents to spend more money for me (being an international student with an expensive tuition & having to live abroad with a much higher living cost, and a lot of other factors concerning money), while Indonesian's economy is at risk & the currency has devaluated a lot since 3 years ago. I can't be selfish... my parents still have my brother to think about. He's going to college in 1.5 years from now.. and with the situation in Indonesia, he might not be able to study in the USA at all, at least not in the mean time... *sighs* I'd feel really guilty if I still asked for more money (than what is available for me) while I should've been able to support myself. So that's why I want to graduate as soon as possible and try to make my own living.
Therefore, for you who still have chance upon your life & your future... don't waste it. Not many people have the same chance as you do. Some people don't even have a chance at all due to a lot of circumstances.
And now... time to see the continuation of
Yawara! :D *mutters to herself "yeah, great way to snap out of a serious train of thought, elyse ^^;"*
